• Our mother, 92, has lived in the Lilydale Senior Building since February 2013, almost 4 years. She has a cardiac condition which greatly limits her energy level and she has permanent hearing loss which limits her ability to communicate with others, especially in a large group. My siblings and I want to thank you for the quality of services she continues to receive at Lilydale. The environment is warm, welcoming, fresh and clean. "Eddy" is a delight when she cleans the apartment each week. Whenever anything has needed repair or replacement attention, Ron has responded immediately. She has appreciated Emily's help in selecting meal choices. The meals provided variety and been tasteful, including exceptional desserts. The staff has treated Mom with respect and care. Sue and Pam have worked with us to develop plans to meet Mom's needs as they have changed. Sue has worked closely with Lilydale staff, Hospice staff and us to address concerns related to changing physical needs. It all has been greatly appreciated. Mom's favorite is Matt. It is obvious he cares about her. He is always respectful, helpful and goes above and beyond sharing his abundance of positive joy. It is difficult to see Mom require more assistance with the activities of daily living, knowing she would rather be independent. We feel very fortunate that she is at Lilydale where there is a caring, supportive staff. Thank you!

• On March 16th, I observed 5 years residency at Lilydale Senior Living. It's quite amazing to me how quickly the time has passed. I'm reflecting on all the agreeable services in this lovely facility. First, I wish to compliment Ron on his admirable performances in addressing the few issues that I've encountered. His prompt, efficient repairs, provided with a cheerful attitude, have always resulted in satisfactory solutions. My family insists on indulging me with house-keeping services, as you perhaps know. That chore has fallen to Edie most of my time here. She has performed her duties with diligence and dedication in a most exceptional manner. I can't image a more pleasant, competent person doing the tasks for me. Edie is a delightful and outstanding staff member. I'm very grateful for her.

• Every time I come to see Mom, I feel some apprehension and often cry on the way home. She is a shell, in many ways, of what she used to be. I pray, just bless our time together - and he does. Today as I was leaving these leaves caught my eye. They had once been something that people would seek out in the fall to appreciate their beauty. They've been blown down in the wind and have disintegrated to a shell. Look, though, now they are intact - all of the veins of life still perfect. I asked a couple of people what they saw in them. "A rotten leaf." To me they are so beautiful in their "earthly imperfection." This to me was one of the many reminders I'm given when things are overwhelming. Mom is intact and beautiful. Every time I watch you be with her I see it. I am so thankful that you are the one who can look at her as the woman she always was, not a shell, but beautiful as those adornments of youth have faded, sometimes more & more every day. I love you for it!
